Sanitizers to Clean Water

Killing bacteria and preventing algae is a vital step

Sanitizers are the key ingredients of proper pool maintenance. Chlorine and bromine keep the water clear, protected from bacteria and help control algae. They are part of the BioGuard® 3-Step Pool Care System.

The SilkGuard® advantage

  • The best BioGuard sanitizers feature SilkGuard technology and are found ONLY at BioGuard dealers

  • Makes water soft and smooth

  • Prevents scaling, protects against corrosion and metal staining

  • Protects pool equipment for longer life

Shock to Remove Contaminants

Destroying organic contaminants is important. Shocking your pool water is a needed step for proper pool maintenance. Shocks or oxidizers chemically destroy organic contaminants, remove combined chlorine and help restore water clarity.

Isn’t shocking just when your water has a problem?

No! Shocking should be part of your pool maintenance. While it does help with troubleshooting when part of a routine it removes contaminants that cause cloudy water and helps keep the water crystal clear and sparkling.

Prevent algae before it becomes an issue

The addition of algicide is needed for proper pool maintenance. Sanitizers or shock/oxidizers alone may not keep algae at bay and this step is needed to keep your pool completely clear of any growth.

Do all algicides kill algae?

Not all algicides are alike, only algicides that have been approved by the EPA for killing algae actually perform. All BioGuard products have been thoroughly reviewed and proven effective. Various kinds of algae may require different treatments to ensure they are eliminated.

Salt Water Pools

Saltwater pools have unique needs

Saltwater pools are favored for their simple and gentler approach to pool care, but they do have some unique needs when compared to traditional chlorine pools. Look for a certified saltwater pool expert to make sure you're keeping your liner, swimmers, and equipment safe.

A Certified Salt Pool Expert has been trained to understand exactly what is needed to keep a salt pool performing at peak condition. They also understand why you chose a salt pool in the first place and will work hard to maintain your satisfaction with that choice.

How Do Salt Water Pools Work?

Power is applied to the TurboCell, converting dissolved salt into chlorine gas.

The chlorine gas dissolves into the water.

Water in your pool containing the proper amount of dissolved salt enters the TurboCell.

Water with pure, fresh chlorine is returned into the pool, satisfying 100% of your pool’s chlorination needs.

Perma Salt Pools

Although Lebanon Chemical - The Pool's Edge is not a Perma Salt dealer, we can help you take care of your copper-based pool. The Perma Salt system, along with others, is a copper-based water chemistry system. We have all the supplies, including the copper chamber, control box, and chemicals.

The Perma Salt System uses an alternative natural synergy approach to water purification. First, the Perma Salt Chamber disperses natural minerals into the water, such as copper and silver, that serve as a natural algicide and sanitizer. By simply adjusting the dial, these natural mineral levels can be adjusted and maintained to their ideal levels. In addition, these natural minerals are complemented by a family of other traditional pool products.
